History of Daytons and the wire wheel

Dayton Wire Wheels are well known for their appeal with classic and foreign car owners.  Dayton Wire Wheels have been around since the early 1900's! Their history is actually very rich, having provided wheels several iconic figures in American History. But these wheels weren't the 13's you see riding around on a Diald in custom lowrider. These wheels were used by the wright brothers, Henry Ford, and Charles Lindburgh before they ever hit a lowrider! Most people might know wire wheels as "Dayton's" which are HUGE in the custom car scene especially in lowrider and car hop shops.
